SPELL functions as an ERC-20 token with a dual role within the Abracadabra.money ecosystem – serving as both a governance instrument and an incentive mechanism. This token, SPELL, finds its primary utility in two key areas: firstly, it empowers governance activities within the Abracadabra protocol, and secondly, it encompasses the fees acquired from protocol transactions.

Abracadabra employs interest-bearing tokens, such as [CRV](https://coinrotator.app/coin/curve-dao-token), CVX, and YFI, as collateral to generate [Magic Internet Money](https://coinrotator.app/coin/magic-internet-money) (MIM), a stablecoin pegged to the USD. The overall supply of SPELL is capped at 210,000,000,000 units, which are distributed across various avenues including global farming incentives, team allocations, and the initial DEX offering.

## What is Unique About Abracadabra and Spell?

These markets bring forth a novel approach, where risks are not collectively borne. In these isolated markets, users can contribute liquidity for any given token pair. This unique setup empowers Abracadabra to present a range of pairs that often remain unsupported on most other decentralized exchanges (DEXs).

A notable aspect of this technology is its capability to enable users to leverage their positions involving interest-bearing tokens. This involves users leveraging their positions, subsequently leveraging the borrowed stablecoin, thus creating multiple loops that amplify their leverage. Notably, all these actions are consolidated into a single transaction, which streamlines the process and results in a solitary gas fee payment.

Within this context, Spell Token (SPELL) can be acquired by providing liquidity in various pools. Furthermore, SPELL can also be staked. Tokens that are staked accumulate a portion of the platform fees, which encompass interest, borrowing fees, and a specific market's 10% liquidation fee – all of which are automatically reinvested for compounding benefits.

The team behind Spell are gearing up for expansion onto the Kava Chain.
