What is RSS3 Network?

The RSS3 Network is a decentralized platform designed to facilitate the unrestricted dissemination of information across the Open Web. Anchored on the principles of openness and decentralization, it aims to empower users and developers alike by providing a robust infrastructure for managing and accessing open information. At its core, RSS3 operates with two distinct sublayers: the Data Sublayer (DSL) and the Value Sublayer (VSL), each serving critical roles in the network's ecosystem.

RSS3 Network - The Open Information Layer

The RSS3 Network is structured into two primary sublayers: the Data Sublayer (DSL) and the Value Sublayer (VSL). The DSL manages the lifecycle of open information, encompassing indexing, transformation, storage, dissemination, and consumption. It operates on the RSS3 Protocol, a standardized framework that enhances interoperability across diverse data sources and applications. The VSL, built on an Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain with NEAR as its Data Availability layer, focuses on managing value derived from open information activities, fostering a robust ownership economy within the network.

RSS3 Protocol

The RSS3 Protocol underpins the network's operations, providing a structured approach to managing and disseminating open information. By standardizing data structures and formats, it enables seamless interoperability across permissionless data sources, supporting a wide array of applications from AI training to social media platforms and search engines.

Current Mainnet Stage

At its current Alpha stage, the RSS3 Network Mainnet is actively evolving with planned updates and improvements. This stage allows for iterative development and community feedback to refine the network's functionality and scalability.

Data Sublayer

Project Development

RSS3 Network is excited to announce the launch of the RSS3 Beta Mainnet, a significant step towards building a decentralized Open Information network. The network's metrics are impressive, with the Value Sublayer (VSL) holding over 556M $RSS3 in Total Value Locked (TVL), more than 3.9M VSL transactions, and over 2B queries processed by the Data Sublayer (DSL).

The Beta Mainnet introduces Public Good Nodes, which are fully open-source and can be accessed on GitHub. Deployment of these nodes is permissionless and can be initiated via the RSS3 Explorer. These nodes support public goods, and all rewards are allocated to a Public Good Pool to aid independent builders.

Delegators can entrust $RSS3 to Beta Nodes, with tokens managed in a collective Public Good Pool. Previous DSL versions will be sunset in favor of the new decentralized infrastructure. This launch marks a major milestone in creating a truly decentralized Open Information network.
