What is Alien Worlds?
Alien Worlds is a decentralized metaverse operating on the Ethereum, WAX, and Binance Smart Chain blockchains. Planets, which function as decentralized autonomous organizations, receive daily Trilium rewards from central metaverse smart contracts. The interaction for explorers involves activities like mining, acquiring or renting land, and voting for Planetary governance, influencing Trilium and NFT payouts, as well as other strategic actions within the evolving metaverse.
Recent Video Interview
Main points of the interview:
- Alien Worlds is a metaverse on Ethereum and WAX blockchains, combining NFTs, DeFi, and DAOs.
- Mining mechanics, planetary governance, and unique land ownership in the game.
- User accessibility and community-driven development through wax cloud wallet integration and decentralized governance.
Metaverse Components
The metaverse operates across Ethereum, WAX, and Binance Smart Chain, each serving specific purposes. Ethereum facilitates Trilium storage and access, WAX focuses on gaming and NFTs, and Binance Smart Chain offers cost-effective transactions with a growing user base. On-chain components include Trilium token, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), core gameplay like mining and missions, DAO governance, and the database of Planets with gaming reward mechanisms.
Planets in Alien Worlds
Planets are the central hubs within Alien Worlds, serving as the primary location for mining, gameplay, and governance. With each Planet setting its resource strategy and games, players influence Planetary government through staked Trilium. There are initially six Planets, and a unique one on the Binance Smart Chain (Planet B). Planets receive daily Trilium flows from the Federation, and each operates as a Decentralized Autonomous Community (DAO) with dedicated client portals for voting and resource allocation.
Membership and Staking
Users become voting members of a Planet by staking Trilium, which involves sending Trilium to a contract address. In return, the contract issues tokens representing governance in that specific Planet's DAO. Staked Trilium can be swapped back into Trilium at any time through smart contracts, providing an immutable mechanism for managing membership.
Satellites in Alien Worlds
Satellites are user-created DAO worlds orbiting Planets, providing scalable and flexible environments for communities. These communities can organize activities, compete, earn TLM rewards, and develop games, NFTs, and lore. Core NFTs, including Land, Avatars, Artifacts, Tools, Weapons, Minions, and Missions, form the foundation of the metaverse.
Trilium
Trilium, as the native token, has a finite supply, with inflation funding various allocations, such as daily distributions to Planets, Satellites, and landowners. Staking Trilium is essential for governance, gameplay, running for candidacy in Planet DAOs, and participating in events and quests, showcasing its multifaceted role in the metaverse.
Alien Worlds Team Background and Partners
The development of the game is credited to Dacoco GmbH, a German software development company that has successfully undertaken three projects thus far. Specifically, Alien Worlds, the game in question, was brought to life in 2020.
Dacoco is headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, recognized as the 'crypto valley' of Switzerland due to its concentration of blockchain and cryptocurrency companies. The company prides itself on its expertise in decentralized autonomous community organizations and additionally serves as guild validators on the WAX blockchain.
Alien Worlds' partners: Binance, Coinmarketcap, Animoca Brands, CoinGecko, OMA3, Zilliqa, Coinbase Wallet, Object Computing, and The Sandbox.
Project Development
The Galactic Hubs Grant Program, an initiative in the Alien Worlds Metaverse, aims to foster community development by awarding grants to noteworthy projects. One such project, Trilium Quest: Curse of The Holoforms, is an upcoming MMORPG by Arch Games, funded through a Pioneer grant in Season 2 of the program. The game immerses players in the role of a young orphan on the planet Magor, exploring an open-world strategy game that expands the Alien Worlds’ sci-fi lore.
Trilium Quest offers both single-player and multiplayer dynamics, featuring diverse play styles such as combat and diplomacy. Developed in collaboration with a sci-fi writer, the game draws inspiration from classics like Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior. The narrative, set to become part of Tokenized Lore, allows contributions from the community, creating an interactive and ever-evolving gaming experience.
Episode zero is set to launch, initially as a single-player browser game, with subsequent multiplayer episodes and blockchain counterparts for in-game items. The game's dynamic features include mining, battles, exploration, building, trading, and an AI-driven narrative that adapts to player choices, ensuring a personalized and engaging adventure.
