The Sandbox Marketplace

The Marketplace in The Sandbox ecosystem offers users the ability to explore and acquire digital content in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFTs), enhancing their overall user experience in playing, creating, and earning. Different user categories, such as PLAYERS, COLLECTORS, ASSET CREATORS, and EXPERIENCE BUILDERS, have specific options for purchasing various items and assets.

In the future, LAND owners will have the option to rent their metaverse LAND to Experience creators. What is the SAND Token?

SAND serves as the native currency and utility token for The Sandbox Game. As a fungible token, it can be freely exchanged for other tokens of the same type, similar to other cryptocurrencies and physical fiat currencies.

Functioning as a medium of exchange, the SAND token plays a crucial role in establishing a digital economy within The Sandbox ecosystem. This benefits creators, players, and owners of various non-fungible token types (NFTs) designed for use in The Sandbox.

Ownership of SAND enables PLAYERS to acquire avatars and equipment, granting access to Experiences that may require a small SAND fee or ownership of a specific NFT. Arthur Madrid, the co-founder and CEO of Pixowl, is a driving force behind The Sandbox. Graduating with an economics degree in 2000, he began his career as a consultant before founding 1-Click Media in 2001, later acquired by Ipercast. Sebastien Borget, another Pixowl co-founder and the company's COO, graduated in computer systems networking and telecommunications in 2007. His career started as a project lead for 1-Click Media. Since then, Madrid and Borget have formed a strong entrepreneurial partnership, founding Pixowl in 2011 and collaborating on various projects together.
