## Power Ledger's Dual Token System

To achieve global synchronization of the Ecosystem and ensure cross-market compatibility, a second token, Sparkz, is utilized for transactions within the Ecosystem. Sparkz tokens are valued, issued, and redeemed in the local currency of the respective Platform Participant. Application Hosts gain access to the Ecosystem by purchasing an adequate amount of POWR tokens, which can then be converted to Sparkz, facilitating the onboarding of their customer base. POWR tokens are a prerequisite for generating Sparkz, and the latter functions as a local market-level token, priced according to the exchange market it is deployed in—e.g., in Australia, 1 Sparkz equals 1 cent AUD. ## Power Ledger Project Development

Powerledger has shifted from Ethereum-based blockchain to a proof-of-stake public blockchain for its energy and environmental trading applications.
