What is Polkacity?

Polkacity is a blockchain game or GameFi inspired by Grand Theft Auto and marketed as "the world's first 3D & AR NFT Multichain Platform and Video Game."

The game incorporates cutting-edge immersive technologies such as Augmented Reality (AR), 3D, and the Metaverse to allow players to create avatars, own virtual real estate and businesses like gas stations and hotdog stands, and collect digital art. These virtual assets can then be traded on the game's NFT marketplace.

The use of "Polka" in the name is derived from the inspiration Polkacity draws from the Polkadot blockchain. Polkadot is a well-known DeFi blockchain that enhances interoperability between various blockchains. While currently operating on Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain (BSC), Polkacity has plans to expand to other blockchains, including Polkadot.

What Makes Polkacity Special?

Polkacity aims to emulate the virtual counterpart of a real city, a concept reflected in the available NFTs for purchase. Currently, players have the option to acquire:

• Various types of taxis, ranging from compacts to limousines.
• Power stations (either petrol or electric).
• Car-related service stations encompassing car washes, rentals, and repairs.
• Establishments such as hotels, restaurants, and shopping centers.
• Leisure-related venues like discos.

Each NFT carries a distinct price, ranging from 1,500 POLC for a compact taxi (with 1,000 available) to 105,000 POLC for a shopping center (limited to 50). Players recover their investment through weekly payments of network rewards, coupled with an additional share of earnings from the respective asset. For example, the owner of a compact taxi receives 60 POLC per week, along with 16% of the taxi's monthly earnings. In contrast, owning a shopping center yields 13,125 POLC weekly and 50% of the center's monthly earnings. This setup enables players to capitalize on the virtual economy within the game.

Carmelo Milian, Polkacity's lead software developer, brings his extensive experience from Microsoft and co-founding OneCloud, a cloud computing company. Serving as the team's marketing advisor is Fatih Atali, a seasoned high physics engineer and co-founder of Blockchain Game Factory, boasting over five years of cryptocurrency expertise. The team is further strengthened by Murad Aliyev, a technology manager with over five years of involvement in technology infrastructure projects, and Manuel Leal, a skilled web developer.
