Lending with Maple Finance

Lending through Maple Finance is the easiest way to earn, with lenders depositing into pools to earn interest denominated in the pool's liquidity asset. With no lock-up period in Maple V2, lenders can submit withdrawal requests at any time, processed in convenient cycles.

Pool Delegates play a pivotal role in managing lending pools on Maple. They negotiate loan terms, perform due diligence, and oversee collateral liquidation in case of defaults. This decentralized infrastructure empowers Pool Delegates to attract global capital and provide funding to premium borrowers, expanding their potential Assets Under Management (AUM) while earning performance fees.

Withdrawing with Maple

Withdrawal requests on the platform follow a structured process to ensure a fair and prorated distribution of funds in case of partial liquidity. These requests are organized into withdrawal cycles, recurring periods, such as weekly intervals. Each withdrawal cycle has a designated withdrawal window at its beginning (e.g., the first two days of the week), during which all withdrawal requests assigned to that cycle become eligible for processing.

The withdrawal process involves three steps:

1. Submission of Withdrawal Request: Users submit a withdrawal request during the current withdrawal cycle (Cycle 1). At this stage, users have the flexibility to modify or cancel their withdrawal request.
2. Waiting Period: Users must wait for the subsequent cycle to conclude before their withdrawal request becomes eligible for processing. For example, if a user submits a withdrawal request in Cycle 1, they can withdraw funds during Cycle 3, after Cycle 2 has completed.
3. Execution of Withdrawal: Once eligible, users can execute their withdrawal during their designated withdrawal window, ensuring a systematic and orderly distribution of assets from the protocol.

The MPL Token

MPL, the governance token of the Maple Protocol, enables holders to actively participate in governance decisions and earn fees. Through a staking program established in May 2022, MPL holders share in Maple's growth, with returns derived from protocol revenues.

Staking MPL into a Maple-owned and audited smart contract results in the issuance of xMPL. This ERC-20 token accrues distributed protocol revenues second-by-second, providing a seamless and rewarding experience for MPL holders. Notably, MPL staked into the xMPL contract is safeguarded and not utilized as a form of first-loss pool cover, nor lent out or employed by other contracts to earn yields.
